1. Choose your points
Inland Wetlands (IWWC)
Skip
"Amazon doesn't pay enough taxes" or "Truck smoke smells bad." (The Wetlands Board will ignore this)
Say this
Demand tertiary bioretention basins to filter zinc and oil from 430 truck spots to protect stream aquatic life.
Planning & Zoning (PZC)
Skip
"I don't like big corporations." (Not a legal zoning reason)
Say this
Demand a 500-foot vegetated buffer and prohibit trucks on local residential cut-through streets to protect KB Ambulance routes.
PZC Road Funding
Skip
"The trucks will ruin our quiet town."
Say this
Demand a multi-million dollar developer Road Bond so taxpayers aren't stuck paying to repave Westcott Road.
General guidance, not legal advice.
2. Write and send it
Write your testimony
Put it in your own words
Fill this in and the page writes the letter for you. You send it to the town yourself — Quiet Corner Brief is not the town and cannot file testimony for anyone. Nothing typed here is published unless you ask us to and an editor approves it.
Your letter
To the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission, Town of Killingly, My name is [your name]. I have questions and concerns for a warehouse facility off Westcott Road. [what you expect this to do to your street, your commute, your water, your work] Please enter this letter into the record for the public hearing. Thank you, [your name]
Written testimony can be submitted to the town online, and is due by 2:00 p.m. on the day of that commission's meeting. Hearings are held at Killingly Town Hall, 172 Main Street, Danielson — usually the Town Meeting Room on the second floor. Agendas, times and meeting rooms can change — check the town’s site before you send or go.
