Plainfield takes in Moosup, Central Village, Wauregan and Plainfield village itself. Town business runs out of 8 Community Avenue; the library is in Moosup; recreation and the senior centre share a building on Norwich Road. Town offices
The town offices are at 8 Community Avenue. The First Selectman's office and the individual departments each have their own direct numbers, listed on the town's contact page.

Library
The Aldrich Free Public Library is on Main Street in Moosup. Its hours changed in autumn 2025 and it is closed Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Recreation and the senior centre
Parks and Recreation runs youth programmes, adult fitness, aquatics and the senior centre out of 482 Norwich Road, with registration online or by phone. The department has said scholarships and financial help are available for families who need them — ask the recreation office.

What's going on in town
The former Plainfield Greyhound Park site on Lathrop Road is the town's biggest open question, and the proposed Smart Technology solid-waste facility has drawn the most attention this year — Plainfield voters approved $250,000 for legal opposition to it. What we're still confirming
Two different town pages print two different phone numbers for the Aldrich library, and we've printed both rather than guessing. Friday town office hours weren't stated on the page we read. If something here is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it the same week.
