Library
The Aldrich Free Public Library is on Main Street in Moosup. Its hours changed in autumn 2025 and it is closed Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Recreation and the senior centre
Parks and Recreation runs youth programmes, adult fitness, aquatics and the senior centre out of 482 Norwich Road, with registration online or by phone. The department has said scholarships and financial help are available for families who need them — ask the recreation office.

What's going on in town
The former Plainfield Greyhound Park site on Lathrop Road is the town's biggest open question, and the proposed Smart Technology solid-waste facility has drawn the most attention this year — Plainfield voters approved $250,000 for legal opposition to it.
